The Roles of Color Schemes

Roles of Color Scheme

Color schemes play very important roles in the tone of the magazine. It is also important to note that using the correct color scheme may also attract more customers or readers. The color and visuals of a magazine play a big role in the attraction of customers and readers. This is especially true for the front cover. The front cover of a magazine should be the most visually appealing, and the color scheme is one of the most important factors in this visual.

What should you do?

  • Provide colors that have a strong visual impact on the viewer. Give them a visual that will make them want to pick up the magazine.

  • Have a good combination of colors, such as complementary colors. In order for the colors to be appealing to the readers.

  • Have a color that fits your theme. This will allow readers to better understand the topic and to associate the color to the topic.

  • Use vivid colors in order to attract the most attention.

  • Make sure the letters can be seen clearly with the color scheme and also fit the theme.

What not to do:

  • Do not use dull colors. This will not attract a person's attention and will make the magazine seem boring. There may be exceptions however, depending on the topic. However a topic such as automobiles and fitness may look more attractive if the colors are vivid.

  • Do not have colors that diffuse each-others effects. This usually occurs with colors that are really light and similar to each-other such as light orange and yellow.

  • Do not have a Title that is very light while the background color is light as well. This will prevent good visibility and legibility. This also includes crazy titles for the title or very unusual and fluorescent colors. try to maintain the colors in one title to a minimum.
