Contents Page Research
Table of Contents:
In order to create my magazine, I must understand all of the components of a magazine. Today I will be researching the table of contents page in order to further understand its functions and get a thorough understanding of it in order to replicate it when the time comes. Despite the Table of Contents being a brief and simple addition to a magazine, it serves a very important purpose.Where is it Located:
- The table of contents is always found on the first page of the magazine.
- It is many times found on the right side of the first two-page spread because that is the first page that is usually seen by readers.
- The table of contents can be one page or a two-page spread
- Many times, the table of contents can also be on tow separate pages with an advertisement separating them through the middle.
- Otherwise, ad pages are usually always located on the right side
- It is crucial to have a good design for this page
- Readers must understand what the page numbers are, what the headline is, and what is the description of each when reading the table of contents.
Purpose of a table of contents:
- The purpose is to allow readers to identify what the magazine contains
- It for allows readers to easily find the page that they are looking for
- It also can many times include a short description of the topic of the page
